The first look of Mammootty’s upcoming thriller Rorschach had won praise from all quarters. Now, reports suggest that the makers of the film, which is currently being shot, is aiming at an Onam release for the movie, helmed by Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha director Nisam Basheer.

Rorschach is touted to have “a unique concept” as per industry insiders, is also produced by the megastar under is banner Mammootty Kampany and is its second production after Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, which is yet to release.

In an earlier interview with us, Nisam had said that he had pitched the storyline to Mammootty during the pandemic and the megastar had greenlit the project immediately. Rorschach is scripted by Iblis and Adventures of Omanakuttan writer Samir Abdul.

If Rorschach is confirmed for an Onam release, the movie will mark the first film of the superstar to hit theatres during the festive season since the pandemic. This could also mean that Rorschach will go up against Nivin Pauly’s Padavettu, which is set to be a September release. The movie has Manju Warrier and Aditi Balan as part of the cast.

Meanwhile, Mammootty has also wrapped up shooting for the Telugu action entertainer Agent, which is directed by Surender Reddy and has Akhil Akkineni in the lead. The film is set to hit theatres in August.
