The Kerala State Film Awards were initially slated to be announced on November 1, 2025, but Malayalam channels report it has been postponed to November 3. The awards are likely to be declared around 3pm, as per online reports. Noted Tamil actor Prakash Raj is the jury chairman for the 55th Kerala State Film Awards.

Top contenders for Kerala State Film Awards

Mammootty is yet again be considered for the honour for his stellar performance in Bramayugam, while Asif Ali is also said to be giving a tough competition for him with a bunch of movies, including Level Cross and Kishkindha Kaandam. Mohanlal is also reportedly in the final list for his Malaikottai Vaaliban, directed by the ac claimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery. But despite the star actor-director combination, the film failed to impress most of the audiences.

Amid this, a social media post by the Kerala Police has led Mammootty fans to claim that megastar is winning the race.

The state police force shared a Facebook post with photos of Mammootty, Mohanlal and Asif Ali riding two-wheelers with the question who will win the ‘Best Rider’ Award. Since only Mammootty was wearing a helmet, fans were quick to point out that he is the winner, while others sought to know if this was a hint of his victory.

On the other hand, the Best Actress race is also a tough choice with the names of Shamla Hamsa for Feminichi Fathima, and Kani Kusruthi for All We Imagine as Light doing the rounds. Both films have been critically acclaimed, while All We Imagine As Light won recognition at the global level.

Anaswara Rajan for Rekhachithram and Nazriya Nazim for Sookshmadarshini are also said to be in contention for the honour.
