It is to be noted that Arjun had previously worked alongside Mammootty in director Khalid Rahman's Unda. Mammootty has played characters with shades of grey in a number of films, including Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Kadha, Vidheyan, and in the recent outings, Puzhu and Rorschach. Hence, expectations are high from the film.

The veteran actor has a slew of films in his kitty, including Kannur Squad, Kaathal-The Core and Kadugannawa Oru Yathra. In Jeo Baby's Kaathal- The Core, Mammootty will be seen alongside Jyothika.

Kannur Squad, on the other hand, is bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany. The film is a crime thriller, helmed by debutant Roby Varghese Raj. Mammootty will be essaying the role of an assistant sub-inspector who leads a team that tracks down elusive criminals. This is the first time in a long hiatus that he plays a cop below a sub inspector’s rank. There are rumours that the teaser of the movie will be released along with the first show of Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha.
