Bheeshma Parvam is continuing its box office onslaught even after two weeks of its release, with the movie running to packed houses during the weekends in certain centres across the State. The Mammootty-starrer recently crossed Rs 75 crore in box office earnings worldwide, making it the megastar’s highest grosser in his 50-year-old career.

While most films do see a slowdown in its second week, Bheeshma Parvam sustained its run thanks to the movie releases in centres outside India including the US on March 10. Considering that there aren’t any big films lined up in Malayalam for the rest of the month and with the Ramzan season set to begin soon, the film is expected to have a good run till next month – making it possible for the film to enter the Rs 100 Cr club.

Bheeshma Parvam, which is directed by Amal Neerad, released in theatres on March 3. The film already had hype going for it as it marked the reunion of the Big B duo after 15 years and Mammootty’s new look for his character of Michael in the film.

The movie, which is a gangster drama-thriller, revolves around the Anjootti family headed by Michael, who commands respect and fear of his relatives. After his ways don't go down well with one section of the family, they decide to seek outside help to eliminate him. The repercussions this has on the rest of the family forms the plot of the movie.

Filled with references from Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather, Mahabharat, Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar and Mani Ratnam’s Nayakan, the movie also has Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Shine Tom Chacko, Jinu Joseph, Dileesh Pothan, Nadiya Moidu, Anagha, Veena Nandakumar, Srinda, Sudev Nair and Maala Parvathi. Bheeshma Parvam was also one of the last few films of Nedumudi Venu and KPAC Lalitha, who had passed away last month.
