Manamey, actor Sharwanand’s comeback film in 2024, ended up as an average performer at the box office. Released on June 7, 2024, the film has finally made its way to OTT after a long seven-month wait.
We at OTTplay were the first to reveal that Manamey’s OTT rights were acquired by Amazon Prime Video for a fancy price and that the film was initially set to stream in the second week of July 2024. However, due to financial issues between the makers and the platform, its release on Prime Video was delayed. After months of struggle, Prime Video has now made Manamey available for streaming from March 7, 2025.
No major Telugu film in recent times has had such a long wait for its OTT release. Another film that faced a similar delay was Akhil’s Agent, which is set to premiere on Sony LIV on March 14, 2025.
Coming back to Manamey, the film was directed by the talented Sriram Adittya, who presented Sharwanand in a highly entertaining manner. Sharwa’s performance was one of the film’s biggest highlights, earning him praise from audiences. Krithi Shetty played the female lead and looked beautiful on screen.

The film was shot entirely in London, boasting stunning visuals and soulful music. However, despite its rich production values, Manamey had a routine storyline, which resulted in an average box office run.
The film follows a charming young man, played by Sharwanand, who is unexpectedly forced to take care of his friend’s son, along with Krithi Shetty. His heartfelt performance was a major highlight, and Hesham Abdul Wahab’s melodious music added to the film’s appeal.
Produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, Manamey was made on a large budget but failed to break even at the box office. Now that it is finally available for streaming on Prime Video, it remains to be seen how the film performs in the digital space.
Interestingly, Manamey will face stiff competition from Thandel, Naga Chaitanya’s blockbuster, which is now streaming on Netflix. It will be exciting to see how both films fare on OTT in the coming weeks.
