Manmatha Leelai release date: When and where to watch Venkat Prabhu's quirky rom-com online

Venkat Prabhu's Manmatha Leelai, which released in theatres earlier this month, is ready for its digital premiere. Ashok Selvan plays the lead in the rom-com which has Riya Suman, Smruthi Venkat and Samyuktha Hegde essaying female leads. Karunakaran, Jayaprakash and Premi Amaren play crucial characters in the movie.

This is the filmmaker's second project in a span of five months after Silambarasan-starrer Maanaadu. The political thriller was his first release after almost a five-year hiatus. Though Manmatha Leelai was planned as a direct-to-OTT release, the makers changed their mind after theatres were opened last September in Tamil Nadu.

What's Manmatha Leelai about?

The movie revolves around a care-free youngster who enjoys the company of multiple girlfriends. However, his life changes after he gets married to a girl whose life revolves around him. The conflict begins when his ex-girlfriends enter his life again. How is he going to handle his wife and ex-lovers?

Premgi Amaren himself has composed music for the film which has editing handled by Venkat Raajen and cinematography by Thamizh A Azhagan. T Muruganantham has bankrolled the movie under Rockfort Entertainment while Manivannan Balasubramaniam has written the screenplay along with Venkat. This is the first time the director has made a movie with a screenplay from another person.

When and where to watch Manmatha Leelai online?

The fun-filled entertainer is dropping on aha Tamil on April 22. This is the second Tamil film in recent times to have its OTT premiere before a month of theatrical release. GV Prakash's Selfie which released along with Manmatha Leelai in theatres, too, dropped on the same platform last Friday.

Manmatha Leelai is the first adult comedy to be made in Kollywood after a long hiatus. The movie opened to mixed reviews upon its release.
