Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao are two of the most versatile actors in the film industry. Now, the actors are all set to be seen together in an upcoming mythological comedy movie, and it will be directed by the ace filmmaker. Shoojit Sircar, as per a report.
Shoojit Sircar's mythological comedy
Pinkvilla reported that Shoojit Sircar is all set to make a mythological comedy film starring Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles. “Director Shoojit Sircar is returning to comedy after a few years, and this time with a new sub-genre. The filmmaker is attempting to explore a fresh facet of humour in cinema, one that is rarely explored in Indian films. The film will begin shooting in 2026 and will be one of the most unconventional projects made in Indian cinema," the source shared.
The source further revealed that Sircar will explore and reimagine an important chapter of the Mahabharata through a humorous approach, which will give a new twist to the epic tale. The film will balance modern elements with an original narrative while staying true to the mythological epic, making the best use of wit and innovative comedy.
Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao’s work front
Bajpayee was recently seen in Raj and DK's The Family Man Season 3. In the new season, Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee) deals with a crisis in the Northeast that causes him to be framed by the NIA and hunted by his own agency, with the help of new ruthless nemesis Rukma (Jaideep Ahlawat). This season discusses the higher stakes for Srikant, his shaky marriage to Suchi (Priyamani), and the role of a father.
