Marco star Unni Mukundan signs 2 Bollywood films after announcing Modi biopic
Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, best known for his ruthless avatar in the 2024 hit film Marco, has now signed two Bollywood films, it was announced on his birthday.

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has been in the national spotlight after it was announced that he would star in a biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But that’s not all! The actor, best known for his ruthless avatar in Marco, has now signed two Bollywood films. The announcement was made on Unni Mukundan’s birthday on September 22, 2025.
Unni Mukundan to star in 2 Bollywood films
Unni Mukundan is celebrating his birthday on Monday, and the fans of the Marco star are being treated to some exciting announcements. First up, a new poster of his upcoming Modi biopic Maa Vande, was released on Instagram. Then Reliance Entertainment announced on Twitter that Unni Mukundan is set to star in two of their upcoming Hindi films. But they did not reveal more details about the upcoming project, including the cast and crew details.

On the other hand, the biopic Maa Vande will be helmed by Telugu filmmaker Kranthi Kumar CH. Apart from Unni Mukundan in the lead role, the rest of the cast has not been announced. In technical crew, Maa Vande has roped in KK Senthil Kumar as DOP, Sreekar Prasad for editing. Popular music composer Ravi Basrur is also on board the project. Basrur has been associated with several popular films across south Industries, including Yash’s KGF 1 and 2, Prabhas-led Salaar and even Unni Mukundan’s Marco.
The biopic aims to depict Modi’s political and personal life. A release date is yet to be announced but the film will release in all major Indian languages, along with in English.
Unni Mukundan not in Marco sequel?
Even amid these Bollywood projects, it is being reported that Unni Mukundan is unlikely to be part of the sequel to Marco, his most popular film. The makers had registered the sequel, Lord Marco, last week. There are rumours that Kannada star Yash could play the lead role in the sequel; however, this is not confirmed by the makers.
On the other hand, Unni Mukundan’s last Malayalam release was Get Set Baby, which did not fare well at the cinemas. Get Set Baby, which was released in theatres earlier this year, is yet to land on OTT. Nikhila Vimal plays the female lead in the film.
