Mari Selvaraj's next titled titled Maamannan; Udhayanidhi, Fahadh, Vadivelu and Keerthy join hands

It's official now! Mari Selvaraj, who turned heads with Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan (both streaming on Amazon Prime Video), has now made an official announcement on his upcoming project. There were unconfirmed reports that Udhayanidhi and Fahadh Faasil will play protagonist and antagonist respectively in it.

It was also heard that Keerthy Suresh and Vadivelu will essay important characters in it. Now, the director has made it official. The icing on the cake is that none other than AR Rahman has been roped in to compose music for the movie. Titled Maamannan, the shooting of the film kicks off today.

Mari took to his Twitter handle to express happiness over the announcement of his third project, while the social media handle of Red Giant Movies, which is bankrolling the movie, came up with an elated post about the film. Keerthy, the female lead of the movie, said she is grateful to be collaborating with such a big team.

She tweeted, "I am super grateful to work with such a brilliant team, starting from the revolutionary @mari_selvaraj sir, Namma @Udhaystalin sir, Nammude #FahadhFaasil , the one & only #VaigaiPuyal #Vadivelu sir, blessed to be working with the legendary @arrahman sir once again. #MAAMANNAN (sic)."

AR Rahman, too, said he is glad to be on board for the movie. This is the first time Rahman is set to compose music for a film which has Udhayanidhi playing the lead. The Academy Award-winning music director is also working for Mollywood film Malayankunju which also stars Fahadh in a pivotal role.

Vadivelu, who was last seen in a brief role in Vijay-starrer Mersal, had already announced his comeback with Naai Sekar Returns recently. Movie buffs and fans of the comedian are now waiting to know which among both the movies will release first.
