Mark Antony, which was in the news recently for a few reasons, finally hit the screens yesterday. Adhik Ravichandran has directed the movie featuring Vishal, SJ Suryah and others in important roles. The gangster drama with a time travel element left movie buffs intrigued when its trailer was unveiled some time ago.

The film has opened to positive response and the makers are excited over the appreciation they have been receiving from several quarters. Director Adhik was seen expressing happiness over the response it garnered from a theatre and thanked Ajith for inspiring him yesterday.

Overwhelmed Vishal thanks the audience

Vishal has now taken to Twitter to post a video thanking people who have been showering love and support to the movie. He also thanked SJ Suryah and Adhik and remembered the efforts the team put in for more than a year. The actor's excitement knows no bounds when he said that Mark Antony is receiving good responses from other states as well.

He promised that he would keep the support of the audience in mind while doing his next project. Vishal took the names of Karthi, Silambarasan, Karthik Subbaraj and Venkat Prabhu for lending support to him.

Solo release turned out to be an advantage

Mark Antony was supposed to have a box-office clash with Chandramukhi 2. However, the latter postponed its release by a couple of weeks owing to pending post-production works. It will now be released on September 28.

Mark Antony courted controversy when Lyca Productions filed a case against Vishal in the Madras High Court, requesting a stay on the movie until the actor pays the pending dues to the production house. However, the court permitted the film's release and asked the concerned parties to settle their conflict after a while.
