Mark Antony is one of the surprise hits Tamil cinema witnessed this year. The movie directed by Adhik Ravichandran starred Vishal in the titular role. SJ Suryah, Ritu Varma, Selvaraghavan and Sunil among others played key roles in the film produced by Vinod Kumar.
The gangster drama, which was released on September 15, turned out to be the biggest hit in Vishal's career. It is said to have grossed 100 crores and surpassed his previous highest grosser Irumbu Thirai.
Mark Antony to drop on Amazon Prime on THIS date
Amazon Prime bagged the film's digital rights a while ago. Though the makers are yet to announce the date of its digital premiere, a few trustworthy sources say that Mark Antony will drop on the platform on October 20. An official update on the same is expected to be out in a few days.
The film is likely to earn appreciation from cinephiles even after its OTT release. SJ Suryah's performance, GV Prakash's background score and Vishal's presence are a few highlights of the movie. Its story revolves around two gangsters who meet in Chennai after a few decades through time travel.
Mark Antony hit the headlines for various reasons
The film was in the news for several reasons in the last few weeks. The Madras High Court granted permission to release the movie despite Lyca Productions requesting a stay on the movie as Vishal owes him a huge sum.
Post the release, Vishal accused the CBFC of illegally charging 6 lakh for screening and censoring the Hindi version of Mark Antony. Later, the I&B Ministry responded to the issue and ensured that an inquiry would be carried out.
