On the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8), Netflix India released the first look of Masaba Masaba Season 2.

One still features Masaba Gupta, in animal print garb, sitting on a throne. Meanwhile, the other photo has her mother Neena Gupta, who also plays her mom in the drama series.

The shoot for the sophomore instalment began in July 2021 and wrapped in September. Masaba had teased that this time viewers will get to see a “different side” to her personality.

"It’s going to be twice the laughter, twice the tears and twice the fun," Masaba had told PTI

Netflix had also shared a brief video, marking the show going on floors in July. In the video, the crew members can be seen looking for Masaba on set. Right at the end of the video, she appears with a clapboard and tells them, "I am here, guys. Let's roll."

The show, which takes inspiration from the designer's real life, is written and directed by Sonam Nair. The six episodes were released in August 2020 to much acclaim.

Season 1 of Masaba Masaba had Neil Bhoopalam, Rytasha Rathore, Tanuj Virwani Smaran Sahu, Nayan Shukla, Pooja Bedi and Satyadeep Mishra.

Among the other women-led Netflix projects that were promoted by the streamer today include Sanya Malhotra's Kathal, Tripti Dimri's Qala, Anil Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh's Thar, Aditi Pohankar's She, and Sakshi Tanwar's Mai
