Mathukutty Xavier: Despite all constraints, Janhvi Kapoor gave an impeccable performance in Mili

Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming survival thriller Mili is a much anticipated movie. The actor who has not done a large number of movies will be seen in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie directed by Mathukutty Xavier.

Talking to ET, director Xavier has commented on the performance the young actor has delivered. “And despite all those constraints, Janhvi gave an impeccable performance. I hope the audience would find the same,” said the filmmaker. 

He was explaining how the conditions of the shoot are difficult because the filming has to take place inside a real freezer, just like how it was done in the original. He says that it is tough to enact the conditions without being in the freezer, at minus temperature.

Helen follows the story of the titular character, a hopeful young nurse who also works at a fast food chain in a mall. The survival thriller kicks up as Helen gets stuck inside a storage freezer and has to fight for her life and survival. 

Xavier made his directorial debut with Helen, which stars Anna Ben in the lead role. The debutante also won the National Film Award for Best Debut Film of a Director as well as Best Make-up Artist. 

The director also revealed that a large portion of the production has been finished and will be completed soon.
