The family drama was aggressively promoted before its release, with the makers showing immense confidence by arranging paid premieres in advance. However, despite the hype, the film has had a slow start at the box office.

After completing two days in theaters, Mazaka has collected ₹3.5 crore worldwide. On day one, it earned ₹2 crore, followed by ₹1.5 crore on day two. The collections have been underwhelming, considering the extensive promotions.

Since the film was released on weekdays, occupancy remained low. However, with no major Telugu film releasing this week, the makers are hopeful that Mazaka will gain momentum over the weekend.

Rao Ramesh's comedy is the major highlight

One of the film’s highlights is Rao Ramesh’s comedy, which has resonated well with audiences. However, the second half has received criticism for its dull execution, which has worked against the film. Known for directing entertaining comedy capers, Trinadha Rao Nakkina designed Mazaka as a mass entertainer.

The story revolves around a father who decides to get married in hopes that his son will settle down. The twist comes when both the father and son fall for women from the same family, leading to a series of comical events.

Anshu, known for her role in Manmadhudu, makes a comeback to Telugu cinema after nearly 15 years, playing a pivotal role. Leon James composed the music, and Murali Sharma played an important role.

Despite its entertaining first half, the underwhelming second half has impacted reviews. Zee5 has acquired the digital rights for a hefty price and will stream Mazaka in the second week of March 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
