Meesaya Murukku 2: Hiphop Tamizha Adhi returns with triple role musical drama; teaser out

It was a few days back when musician and actor Hiphop Tamizha Adhi had announced Meesaya Murukku 2, a sequel to his 2017 film, during one of the live events. Now, on Friday, the makers made an announcement on social media, give us more updates on the project.

Meesaya Murukku 2: What is Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s next film?

The teaser shows the 1980s Madras, and a voiceover that says the doors of studios are quite selective on whom it lets in. Meanwhile the scene shifts back and forth to present and past. There is an evident discrimination between the classical music and street music. Meanwhile the voiceover talks about how the folk music is the art for the commoners. We see Adhi in a period setting, and three getups, revealing that he plays triple role across three timelines.

Just like the first part, the second part will also be directed by Hiphop Tamizha, with music also scored. Fenny Oliver is the editor and the film is shot by Balaji Subramanyam. Harshath Khan, Ketika Sharma, Chaithra Achar, Ramya Ranganathan, Nasser, Yogi Babu and others are also part of the cast.

Earlier, Adhi had said about the film, "Meesaya Murukku 2 story is about youngsters who are chasing after their dreams. We will be coming to screens in summer. We will be having blast in the theatres.”
