Mere Husband Ki Biwi box office collection day 3: The Indian box office is currently witnessing a great run, with several movies performing well and paving the way for more successes. However, one film caught in the middle of the Chhaava storm with little to no room for redemption is Mere Husband Ki Biwi, starring Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh.
This madcap love triangle hit theaters on February 21, 2024, with moderate promotions and a short window between the trailer launch and its release. However, as the film completes its first Sunday at the box office, it is evident that it is struggling to stay afloat. Below is everything you need to know.
Starring Arjun Kapoor in the lead alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh, this comedy of errors follows a man who is happily in love with his girlfriend until his ex-wife, after an accident that causes memory loss, reverts to believing they are still married and re-enters his life. The confusion deepens, leading to a chaotic battle over who gets to claim him.
According to Sacnilk, Mere Husband Ki Biwi earned ₹1.03 crore on its third day since release, marking a significant drop compared to its first two days. This decline was expected, considering Chhaava is still going strong at the box office and Sunday was also occupied by the India vs. Pakistan match.
Adding up the collections from Day 1 (₹1.5 crore) and Day 2 (₹1.7 crore), the film now stands at a total of ₹4.23 crore.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Bhumi Pednekar shared her thoughts on Chhaava's success and what she hopes for Mere Husband Ki Biwi. She said: “I feel when a celebration like this happens, the audience is in a mood to visit cinemas, and I really hope that the positivity that Chhaava has brought into the hearts of audiences is also reflected in our film. I truly want to congratulate Vicky, Laxman Sir, Rashmika (Mandanna), Viineet (Kumar Siingh), and everyone associated with the film.”
She further added:“Just seeing the kind of success Chhaava has achieved makes me very happy because, before anything else, I am a lover of cinema.”
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Mere Husband Ki Biwi continues its run in theaters. While it has received mixed reviews, the film has generated some buzz. However, its future at the box office remains uncertain as it struggles to gain momentum against stiff competition.
