Did you know that late American pop music icon Michael Jackson was nearly roped in to contribute to the music of Rajinikanth-starrer Enthiran? Surprised about it? But it is indeed true. Composer AR Rahman, who scored music for Enthiran, recently opened up about the possible collaboration with the late singer.

In a recent interview, AR Rahman spoke about how during the making of Enthiran, for which he scored the music, he had nearly reached out to collaborate with pop music icon and late Michael Jackson.
"At the beginning of 2009, I was in Los Angeles with my agent who introduced me to someone who manages Michael Jackson. To test the waters, I asked if he could introduce me to Michael Jackson. He was sure but there was no response for a week. But then the nominations happened and I was nominated for Oscars and I got an email saying Michael Jackson wants to meet me. But I was like I don't want to meet him now," narrated Rahman. As the crowd cheered, he continued that he was sure to meet Michael Jackson only if he won the Oscar.
"I won the Oscar and the next day I went to meet him in LA. It was around 6.30 pm and the sun was going down. Somebody opened the door with gloves on and it was Michael Jackson. I was on top of the world because I just won two Oscars and it was a nice time to meet him. He was very kind. Then I went back home and I was doing Enthiran and when I said I met MJ, Shankar asked why don't we (with MJ) do a song together. I was like will he sing a Tamil song? So, I called him and he came. He said we can do whatever I say we can do it. But unfortunately, he passed away. He was sick that time,” Rahman said.
