Thaneer Mathan Dinangal duo Mathew Thomas and Anaswara Rajan are all set to team up again for debutant director Sanju Samuel’s upcoming film, which is based on badminton. The movie also has Minnal Murali and Joker fame Guru Somasundaram as part of the cast.

Touted to be a movie revolving around sports and romance, the film will mark the first collaboration between Mathew and Anaswara after their superhit movie Thaneer Mathan Dinangal. The upcoming film, produced by Alvin Antony, is expected to go on floors by February 1 in Adimali.

Its filmmaker Sanju had worked as an assistant director in films such as Nivin Pauly’s Ohm Shanti Oshaana and Amar Akbar Antony, both of which were also produced by Alvin. Nikhil S Praveen will serve as the cinematographer for the movie.

Anaswara was previously seen playing the titular character in Super Sharanya, which was directed by Thaneer Mathan Dinangal’s Girish AD. The young actress is also part of Bollywood actor John Abraham’s debut Malayalam production venture Mike, which has debutant Ranjith Sajeev as its male lead.

Meanwhile, Mathew has a host of upcoming projects including Prakashan Parakkatte and Jo and Jo. Both movies have completed shooting and are gearing up for release. Prakashan Parakkatte, which is directed by Shahad and scripted by Dhyan Sreenivasan, revolves around a young boy’s dream and has Mathew playing the central character. Dileesh Pothan, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup and Dhyan are also part of the cast.

Jo and Jo, which is helmed by debutant Arun D Jose, is a young-adult family drama. On the movie that also has Nikhila Vimal and Naslen, the director had earlier told us, “It’s essentially a coming-of-age tale. So, it has incidents revolving friends, siblings and family and is a fun movie.”
