Director M Sakthivel's Miral was touted as a slasher flick ever since it was announced in 2021. The film, starring Bharath and Vani Bhojan in lead roles, was released in theatres on November 11. It opened to mixed reviews from critics and the audience.

Though the film's theme and making were appreciated, the unengaging screenplay in its latter half and logical loopholes garnered criticism from cinephiles. KS Ravikumar, Meera Krishnan and Rajkumar among others essayed notable characters in the project which opened to a lukewarm response at the box office.

Axess Film Factory has bankrolled Miral which has cinematography by Suresh Bala and editing by R Kalaivanan. The background score by SN Prasad is partly riveting, while Danger Mani's action choreography is impressive.

The final verdict of the film's OTTplay review read, "With a promising plot and convincing chemistry between a few characters, Miral offers a few intriguing moments. But the flimsy twists and turns in the latter half end up disappointing viewers." The movie's story revolves around an unknown person who tortures a three-member family during the latter's journey to Chennai. How the family deals with his torture forms the rest of the story.

Miral is now set for its digital premiere. The thriller flick will drop on aha Tamil on December 2. The OTT platform had earlier announced that they had bagged the movie's digital rights. However, the release date was made official only yesterday.

The film becomes one of the few Tamil projects this year to have its OTT premiere after less than a month's theatrical release. Selfie, Manmatha Leelai and Love Today are a few other Kollywood movies which dropped on digital platforms before completing a month in theatres.
