Priyanka Chopra, who is currently in the United States, shared her memories of her childhood and her path to becoming Miss World in a video message that was played during the 71st Miss World pageant finale in Mumbai. Priyanka's mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, and her cousin, Mannara Chopra, were there to experience the emotional message firsthand. Here's what happened next after they witnessed Priyanka's speech.
Taking to her Instagram Stories today, Mannara – who recently emerged as the second runner-up of Bigg Boss Season 17, shared what she talked to her ‘maami’ Madhu Chopra about. Mannara lovingly said that she was craving to meet her maami ever since her feat at the reality show. Minutes after, they acknowledged that they were glad to be present in Mumbai for the event.
Later, Mannara acknowledged Priyanka’s video message and said, “Words of encouragement echo with authenticity and power from the words of Miss World 2000 herself. You have always been an inspiration to me Priyanka Chopra di. Proud sister moment.”
Priyanka expressed her admiration for the Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation Nita Ambani, a remarkable woman she'd been fortunate to know for several years. She praised Nita's dedication, passion, and meticulous attention to detail, which she had witnessed firsthand. This development comes a week after Priyanka skipped the celebrations of Nita Ambani’s son Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding bash in India.

On Saturday, Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic became the winner of Miss World 2024 during a grand ceremony held at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai. Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon was the first runner-up. Karolina Bielawska from Poland, the current Miss World, handed over the crown to the new champion during the glamorous finale.
India, which hosted the event after a gap of 28 years, was represented by 22-year-old Sini Shetty. Mumbai-born Shetty, who was crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022. However, she was unable to make it to the top 4 of the contest.
Talking about India’s history in the competition, our country has won the title as many as six times — Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (2000), and Manushi Chhillar (2017).
