Mission Chapter 1 OTT release delayed, Arun Vijay breaks silence

Tamil star Arun Vijay has finally broken the silence on the OTT release date of his latest movie, Mission Chapter 1. On Wednesday, he took to his social media handles to address all inquiries about the movie's streaming details.

While noting that he has been flooded with questions about Mission Chapter 1's OTT release date, he revealed that he currently has no updates on the matter. "Receiving so many messages on #MissionChapter1 's OTT release date... I was told by @LycaProductions that @SunTV was acquiring it.. I think you'll should ask them..," wrote Arun Vijay.

Mission Chapter 1 OTT release date uncertainty

Mission Chapter 1 was released in cinemas on January 12 to coincide with the Pongal holiday. The film opened in cinemas along with Dhanush's Captain Miller and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan. While all other Pongal releases already made their OTT debuts, only Mission Chapter 1 remains elusive from the streaming platforms.

According to prevailing industry practice, all new Tamil movies become available for streaming in less than 30 days after their theatrical debut. But, something seems to be preventing Mission Chapter 1's digital release.

SunNXT was also the official streaming partner for Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan and it arrived on the OTT platform within the expected timeline.

Mission Chapter 1 promises a thrilling ride

Director A. L. Vijay wrote and helmed Mission Chapter 1, which was bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The movie was intended to be a non-stop action extravaganza, offering a thrilling viewing experience for the audience.

Based on the trailer, Mission Chapter 1 tells the story of the protagonist with uncanny skills trapped in a foreign prison. Accused of a serious crime, the protagonist, played by Arun Vijay, struggles to prove his innocence with cops who don't understand his language or emotions. However, a pressing situation involving his only daughter forces the hero to take on the might of the foreign police force and break out of jail.

Besides Arun Vijay, the film also stars Amy Jackson and Nimisha in the lead roles.
