Mohanlal-Anoop Menon movie to happen only next year
Anoop Menon is set to direct a Malayalam movie, with Mohanlal in the lead. In a recent conversation with YouTube channel Movie World Media, Anoop Menon assured the viewers that the film has not been dropped and revealed why it will happen only next year in 2026.
"It will only happen next year. Firstly, the production has changed. And secondly, a main sequence of the movie has to be shot during the Kolkata Durga pooja.That will only be possible next year,” Anoop Menon said.
He further explained that they are planning a 20-day festival shoot, terming it a humbug. He further revealed that it will be an action sequence shoot and that he wanted to authentically shoot it, that was causing the delay. he further remarked that it is a big-budget film with five songs and three fight sequences. The script work is progressing, and Lalettan too said to take our time, he explained
When the film was announced by Mohanlal on Facebook, it had sparked much excitement. Hesham Abdul Wahab, who shot to fame with Pranav Mohanlal’s Hridayam, has also been roped in for the yet-to-be-titled film.
Mohanlal’s last release Thudarum
Mohanlal last starred in Thudarum, which emerged to be a blockbuster success at the box office. The film narrates the tale of Benz Shanmughan, who goes after the cop George Sir, after a loved one is harmed. The popular film, helmed by noted filmmaker Tharun Moorthy, is now available for streaming on JioHotstar.
Mohanlal will be next seen in Hridayapoorvam with Sathyan Anthikad, that will release for Onam 2025. He is also a part of Dileep-starrer Bha Bha Ba.
