A poster revealing Vismaya's debut has been unveiled by Mohanlal as well as his production house, Aashirvad Cinemas, which will be bankrolling this new project. It has also been confirmed that Jude Anthany Joseph will be directing the film titled 'Thudakkam'. The screenplay for this eagerly awaited movie was written by the director himself.
Mohanlal penned a heartfelt note saying, 'Dear Mayakutty, may your “Thudakkam” be just the first step in a lifelong love affair with cinema' along with sharing the poster on his social media pages. In the days to come, further information about the actors, genre, and planned release date is expected to be revealed by the makers. This announcement comes as a double treat, as the actor's fans are already excited about cheering his son, Pranav Mohanlal's upcoming films.
Mohanlal's films in 2025
With several successful films hitting theatres in the first half of 2025, the Lucifer star has been enjoying an impressive year. Though L2 Empuraan generated a lot of debate, it registered a huge collection at the box office. The movie became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year after its theatrical release. Meanwhile, Thudarum, which was directed by Tharun Moorthy of Saudi Vellaka fame, was favourably received by both the general public and reviewers.
