Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is currently working on multiple big projects. He had recently started filming for Empuraan, the sequel to his hit movie Lucifer. According to the latest reports, the actor has now taken a break from Empuraan to complete his portions in the pan-India epic actioner Vrushabha. A video of Mohanlal at the Mumbai airport recently surfaced online. He is likely to resume on the set of Empuraan on October 22.

Vrushabha is an epic actioner
Vrushabha, directed by Nanda Kishore, is a period action drama featuring Mohanlal as characters from two different eras. The movie revolves around the relationship between a father and his son, with Telugu actor Roshan Meka portraying Mohanlal’s son. Mohanlal had previously acted in Telugu films like Manamantha and Janatha Garage (a commercial hit starring Jr NTR).

BTS pictures of Mohanlal in a warrior avatar on the set of Vrushabha  recently went viral. The film has a budget of around ₹200 crore. The cast also includes Bollywood starlet Shanaya Kapoor and singer Zahrah S Khan, who will be seen as warrior princesses in the film.

Mohanlal’s Empuraan: the sequel to Lucifer
Empuraan, like Vrushabha, is a pan-India film with Mohanlal reprising the role of Abr’aam Khureshi.  Directed by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who had also helmed Lucifer, Empuraan marks the entry of Lyca Productions into the Malayalam film industry. The movie also features Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas and Indrajith Sukumaran in pivotal roles.
