Month of Madhu, the relationship drama starring Naveen Chandra, Swathi Reddy and Shreya Navile in key roles, enjoyed an impressive run in theatres, with glowing reviews and audience feedback coming its way. Srikanth Nagothi, who debuted with the OTT release Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna, wrote and directed the film. Yashwanth Mulukutla produced it under Krishiv Production and Handpicked Stories.

Nearly a month after its theatrical run, Month of Madhu premiered on OTT. Leading OTT platform aha acquired its post-theatrical digital rights. While the film was in the news for the right reasons for amassing 50 million streaming minutes on aha sometime ago, the streamer came up with another surprise announcement. The victorious march of the film is continuing, while it breaks a new viewership record.

The drama has now garnered over 100 million minutes on the platform, barely within two weeks, a major surprise given the genre and its niche appeal. There are several factors that worked in favour of the film, from the innovative narration to the measured performances by Naveen Chandra, Swathi Reddy, the stellar music score by Achu Rajamani and the cinematography by Rajeev Dharavath.

The success of the film indicates that viewers are ready to watch stories across any genre regardless of the stars or the scale, provided it’s sensible and engaging. The story of Month of Madhu revolves around two Madhus - Madhumathi and Madhusudan Rao. While the former is curious about love, relationships, the latter is pessimistic about it, dealing with a divorce with his former love Lekha.

Manjula Ghattamaneni, Harsha Chemudu, Gnaneswari Kandregula, Raja Chembolu, Raja Ravindra, Rudra Raghav, Ruchita Sadineni, Mourya Siddavaram, Kancherapalem Kishore form the supporting cast of the film which is edited by Kshanam, Krishna and his Leela fame filmmaker Ravikanth Perepu. Chandramouli Eathalapaka is the art director and Sumanth Dama is the co-producer.
