It was earlier reported that the popular OTT platform has bagged the digital rights of this dance movie. The film will be accessible on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium starting at 12 am on July 8 in multiple languages. Apart from Malayalam, Moonwalk will be streaming in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada.

When the movie first came out on May 30, it was praised for its distinctive take on the narrative. After its OTT release, Moonwalk is expected to get the recognition it deserves even though movie didn't attract many people to theatres. Mohanlal's recent hit Thudarum and Padakkalam, which stars Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharaf U Dheen, have just begun streaming on the same platform. Malayalam web series, Kerala Crime Files 2, is also accessible on JioHotstar.

What is Moonwalk all about?

The movie, which is based on true events, centres on a group of young individuals who want to learn Michael Jackson's breakdancing skill because they find him inspiring. These boys overcome all obstacles to master this dance technique while attending school or doing odd jobs, as the trailer makes evident. In order to take part in a state-level competition, they are also seen putting a lot of effort into learning the dance moves. It also suggests that the story takes place in a small town during the 1980s.

The film, which was directed by debutante A K Vinod, was presented in theatres by acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery. "Moonwalk brings an exciting new energy to the film industry through a group of young people," Lijo had stated in a promotional video. Most of Moonwalk's main actors are promising young debutantes. Manoj Moses, Shersha Sherief, Anunath, Rishi Kainikkara, Sujith Prabhakar, Nainita Maria, Sreekanth Murali, and Meenakshi Raveendran are the main cast members of the movie.
