5 Most-awaited Malayalam OTT releases in February 2026 on JioHotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, ZEE5 and more

Interesting days are ahead of Mollywood with exciting titles releasing in both theatres and the digital space. The Malayalam film Kalamkaval, starring the veteran actor Mammootty, has been making waves ever since its digital release on SonyLiv (via OTTplay Premium) on January 15, 2026. The much-anticipated films Chatha Pacha and Nivin Pauly’s Baby Girl are slated to release in theatres later this week. But Nivin Pauly also has Sarvam Maya, which is likely to make its much-anticipated OTT release in February. The other Malayalam films, including Vilaayath Budha, and Nikhila Vimal’s Pennu Case, are also expected to make their much-anticipated OTT releases on platforms such as JioHotstar, SonyLiv, Zee5 and Netflix, among others.

Sarvam Maya

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly stormed his way into the Rs 100 crore club with his feel-good entertainer film, Sarvam Maya. The actor once again was at his charming best and was brilliantly complemented by actress Riya Shibu as the Delulu ghost and actor Aju Varghese as his cousin. The Akhil Sathyan continues to run in theatres, but is much-awaited in the OTT space. A source had earlier confirmed to OTTplay that Sarvam Maya is headed to JioHotstar, but an official announcement is awaited.

Pennu Case - TBA

Malayalam actress Nikhila Vimal’s film Pennu Case, was one of the first releases in Mollywood in 2025. The actress, known for her bold replies, plays a con woman, who cheats men through marriage frauds. She is joined by a host of actors, including Aju Varghese, Irshad, Renji Kankol, Ramesh Pisharody, P.P. Kunhikrishnan and Hakkim Shahjahan. Director Febin Sidharth helmed the film, which he said was inspired by some real-life incidents.

Vilaayath Budha - TBA

Malayalam actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran turned sandalwood smuggler Mohanan in this film, a role which he termed as a ‘local Pushpa’ (referring to Telugu star All Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa films). Senior actor Shammi Thilakan plays Bhaskaran Master in the movie, which revolves around their ego clash. Director Jayan Nambiar’s film is based on noted writer G Indugopan’s novella of the same name. Unlike the success of another book adaptation, Ponman, Vilaayath Budha failed to impress critics or audiences.

Haal -TBA

Young actor Shane Nigam leads this film, which narrates a romantic tale in a dramatic setting. Veera directed the film, which was released in theatres for Christmas along with Sarvam Maya. Even when Sarvam Maya became a raging success, Haal failed to make much of a headway despite being a festive release. Actress Sakshi Vaidya plays the heroine in the film, which also features senior actors Johny Antony, Madhupal and Sangita Madhavan Nair.

Paathirathri

OTT release date: TBA

Actress Navya Nair, who was one of the notable names from the 2000s Malayalam cinema, dons the khakhee for this cop drama. Actor Soubin Shahir plays the other lead role in the film, also a cop. A certain incident that happens in the midnight (Paathirathri) forms the crux of the story as the two cops race against time to find the truth. Puzhu director Ratheena PT directs the film, which opened to mixed reviews.
