The one-hour film, which was earlier supposed to be an OTT release, will now hit the screens on October 8
A still from the film
It was announced recently that Mughizh, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Regina Cassandra in lead roles, will have a theatrical release on October 8. The makers had earlier planned an OTT release for the movie, the duration of which, is 62 minutes. The opening of theatres in Tamil Nadu a month ago and a couple of films registering decent BO numbers in the weekends made the team opt for a theatrical release.
A three-minute trailer of Mughizh was released by the makers earlier this year. Now, they have come up with a short teaser which features Vijay Sethupathi and Shreeja Vijay Sethupathi, the latter's daughter, who is making his acting debut with the film. Interestingly, the duo will be seen playing father and daughter in the movie as well.

The one-minute teaser released by Vijay has Shreeja and the latter playing with their pet Scooby, which plays one of the important roles in the film, directed by Karthik Swaminathan. The actor himself has produced the project under the banner Vijay Sethupathi Productions. Sathya Ponmar has handled cinematography for Mughizh which has editing and music by R Govindaraj and Revaa respectively. Earlier, Sethupathi's son Surya Vijay Sethupathi had made his acting debut with Sindhubaadh and shared screen space with his father.
Sethupathi and Regina play an adorable couple in the movie. They will be seen essaying the roles of a husband and a wife in the ongoing web series directed by Raj and DK, too. The former had joined the project a couple of months ago, while the makers announced the latter's inclusion in it recently. Sethupathi's last outing was Deepak Sundarrajan's Annabelle Sethupathi which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar while Regina was last seen in Chimbudeven's Kasada Tabara which had a direct release on SonyLIV.
