We had reported earlier that the shooting of multi-starrer film, Golmaal, which has Jiiva, Shiva, Tanya and Payal playing lead roles, will be shot completely in Mauritius. After completing a major schedule in the island nation, the team has reportedly returned to Chennai for a short break. 

The initial plan of the makers was to complete the movie at one stretch at Mauritius. As per the current plan, we hear that the cast and crew of will head to the foreign country for another schedule in January after shooting a few crucial portions in Chennai. One of the reasons the team chose Mauritius for shooting is because it is a place Tamil cinema hasn't explored much.

According to Ponkumaran, the team which commenced the shooting a month ago, shot for close to a month's time. Billed as a full-fledged comedy, it is heard that Golmaal's director is all praise for Jiiva and Shiva. The makers are banking on the comic timing of both the actors and their chemistry is said to be one of the highlights of the project.

A former assistant of veteran filmmakers K Bhagyaraj and KS Ravikumar, Ponkumaran had penned the story of Rajinikanth’s Lingaa (streaming on Jio Cinema) in Kollywood. He has also directed Kannada films Vishnuvardhana, Yejamana and the Tamil-Kannada bilingual Charulatha. 

The film has a stellar cast including Yogi Babu, Naren, Manobala, Vaiyapuri, Subbu Panchu, Sanjana Singh, Yugi Sethu, Sadhu Gokila, Ramesh Khanna, Vipin Siddharth, KSG Venkatesh, Malavika, George Mariyan and Madhu Sneha. 

The movie has cinematography by S Saravanan and music by Arul Dev. Don Bosco is the editor of the movie which has lyrics by Madhan Karki and Viveka. As per the current plan, the makers are eyeing a theatrical release in the first half of 2022.
