Shanthnu, who was last seen in Vijay's Master (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), the first blockbuster of the year, has geared up for the release of his next project. Murungakkai Chips, which evoked the curiousity of movie buffs ever since its announcement, thanks to its catchy title, will hit the screens on November 19. 

The actor and producer Ravindhar Chandrasekaran, who has also acted in a small role in the film, took to their Twitter accounts to make the announcement on the movie's release date. The first single of the film was released in January and its trailer was unveiled in April.    

Athulya Ravi plays the female lead in the movie which has Srijar at he helm. Bhagyaraj, Urvashi, Mayilsamy, Manobala, Yogi Babu and Munishkanth among others play pivotal roles in the film which has music by Dharan Kumar. Ramesh Chakravarthy and Jomin have handled the film's cinematography and editing respectively.

Athulya was last seen in Samuthirakani's Naadodigal 2 (streaming on MX Player) which had her share screen space with Sasikumar and Anjali. Earlier this year, there were speculation doing the rounds that the movie might go the OTT way. It was also heard that the makers are opting direct-to-OTT release considering the second wave of the pandemic. However, there was no news heard on the same later. 

The film's wrap up event had hit the headlines in March when all the crew members took to their Twitter handles to post pictures from the location. The team completed the shooting with a song choreographed by Shobi. They had also organized a cake cutting ceremony at the shooting spot which was attended by the crew members. The movie will take on Arun Vijay's Borrder at the box office on November 19.
