Though Rajinikanth’s Jailer is the most-anticipated South release this week, there’s plenty of films on OTT and theatres to keep fans of Malayalam cinema entertained too

Even though the second weekend of August belongs entirely to Rajinikanth’s Jailer, which also has Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Vinayakan as its antagonist, there are enough movies for the audience who are still able to resist the charm of Thalaivar films.
The two big releases on OTT – Mathew Thomas and Naslen’s Neymar along with Kunchacko Boban’s Padmini – are sure to keep the family audience engaged. But there’s also two other choices for the same section of audience, a supernatural comedy and a family entertainer that stars Indrajith Sukumaran and Urvashi, respectively. Neymar

All hell breaks loose after Akamsh brings a dog named Neymar to his house, at the advice of his friend Sinto. Akamsh’s strict father quickly ships out the dog, but this leaves a void in Akamsh’s life and he along with Sinto decide to track down Neymar in Tamil Nadu. What awaits them is a series of adventures centred around ultra-competitive games for dogs.
