Koogle Kuttappa actor Tharshan, whose latest outing, Naadu, has been receiving a lot of praise since its OTT debut. The latest to speak about the film is director-actor Samuthirakani, who heaped praise on Naadu after watching it on Amazon Prime Video. Taking to social media, Samuthirakani said about director M Saravanan’s film in a video, “I watched Naadu recently on Amazon Prime and it's a must watch film indeed. Amidst so many violent films that are being churned out these days, a well-intended film like Naadu is a surprise to me. Just like me, you must have also not watched the film in theatres, so do watch it on Amazon Prime."

He added, “It will definitely rejuvenate your idea of our land, and give you a good cinematic experience. Director Saravanan has narrated the film in the most organic way possible and I wish the team all the very best.”

Naadu is a rural drama about medical facilities

Helmed by Engeyum Eppodhum (2011) director M Saravanan, Naadu stars former Bigg Boss Tamil contestant Tharshan and actress Mahima Nambiar in lead roles. The film revolves around a village without medical facilities.

Mahima Nambiar plays a doctor named Shobana, who is from a city and is assigned duty in the village for a week. However, Maari (played by Tharshan) and other villagers try to persuade Shobana to stay in the village as a permanent doctor in the village, which is situated in the hills. Will the villagers succeed or not? This forms the crux of the story.

Interestingly, Naadu is the first film to be shot in the Kolli Hills mountain range.

Apart from Mahima and Tharshan, the film stars Singam Puli, R.S. Sivaji, Arul Das, Inba Ravikumar, and Vasantha in pivotal roles.

Naadu was released in theatres on December 1 and is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
