Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas’ film Nadikar released in theatres in May 2024, but is yet to make its digital premiere. The streaming platform Saina Play, which had announced that the film is set for its digital release last month, has now dropped the release date as well. Helmed by filmmaker Lal Jr, Nadikar also features actors Bhavana, Soubin Shahir, and Balu Varghese, among others.
Nadikar set to stream on OTT soon
The 2024 Malayalam film Nadikar, starring Tovino Thomas, will stream on Saina Play on August 8, 2025, more than 16 months after its theatrical release. Nadikar, meaning actor, revolves around superstar David Padikkal, who turns arrogant but ends up suffering flops. The rest of the film is about whether and how David gets back in the game.
Despite an ensemble cast, Nadikar failed to connect with the audience during its theatrical release and ended up as a flop. But the long delay in making its digital premiere has created some buzz around the movie, which is expected to win more traction upon its streaming debut. The Malayalam film will also be available for streaming in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Where to watch Tovino Thomas’ other recent films
Tovino Thomas’ most recent film to hit the OTT space was Narivetta, which dropped on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium in July. Penned by Abin Joseph, the socio-political thriller revolves around a tribal protest and the police action that follows. Tovino plays a rookie and reluctant cop Varghese in the film, who initially is against the tribal protests but after certain incidents, he switches sides and stands up for the justice of the marginalised.
Directed by filmmaker Anuraj Manohar, Narivetta also stars Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu and Tamil actor-filmmaker Cheran in key roles. The film won appreciation for its realistic portrayal of the subject, and gritty performances of its lead cast.
