Naga Chaitanya has established himself as one of the big stars of the Telugu film industry with the success of his many projects. The actor is now working on his Hindi cinema debut with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha.

Chaitanya has now said that the chance to share screen with Aamir Khan is one of the reasons why he said yes to the project. Talking to Hyderabad Times, the actor said, “ One of the reasons I said yes to this project is for the opportunity to share screen with Aamir and learn from him. He’s very meticulous on sets and it was great fun to work with him.”

The actor also said that his first love is to entertain the people of the South, but he loved Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump growing up and never did he think that he would be a part of its adaptation.

He also talked about his character in the movie, which will see him play the version of Gump’s friend in the movie, Benjamin Buford Blue aka Bubba. Chaitanya said that it's a challenging character and that he had fun playing it and there has been minor tweaks done to the character so it fits into the Hindi audience.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which was based on Winston Groom's novel of the same name. Co-produced by Aamir Khan’s Aamir Khan Productions, the story of the movie has been penned by Atul Kulkarni.

Apart from Khan in the lead and Naga Chaitanya making his Hindi debut, the movie also has Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead.
