Many Tamil celebrities have been going gaga over Ponniyin Selvan, which is running to packed houses in the state. Now, Tollywood veteran Nagarjuna has heaped praise on the big budget movie while he was talking at Chennai during the promotion of his forthcoming project The Ghost.

The Ghost, an action thriller, will be released simultaneously in Tamil as well on October 5 under the title Ratchan. The veteran actor recollected his earlier days in Chennai, and reminisced about working with Mani Ratnam in Idhayathai Thirudathe (Geethanjali in Telugu).

He said, "Bringing Ponniyin Selvan on screen has been one of the biggest dreams of Mani. He has spoken about it to me a few times. He has proven once again why he is a master craftsman. I have many fond memories of working with him during Idhayathai Thirudathe. I would like to congratulate him on this occasion."

Nag also showered praise on AR Rahman and the film's cast, including Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and Jayam Ravi.

The Bangarraju star then recollected those instances where his films were released in Tamil. Ram Gopal Varma's Udhayam, Ratchagan, Payanam and Thozha were a few notable projects of his which hit the screens in Kollywood. He spoke briefly on his bonding with Karthi while working with him in Thozha, and opened up on what made makers of The Ghost release it in Tamil.

"We had no idea to release The Ghost in other languages. But after we completed the movie, we felt it has a universal topic coupled with grand making style, and that there are chances of it appealing to Tamil audience. The highlight of the film will be its action sequences."
