Is Nagarjuna leaving Bigg Boss Telugu?

We at OTTplay have already reported that Akkineni Nagarjuna is expected to return as the host for season nine. However, recent developments suggest a possible change. Reports indicate that Nagarjuna might not return as the host for the upcoming season. A source close to the channel has revealed that the actor is greenlighting two major projects back-to-back, which will keep him busy with filming. Due to this packed schedule, he is considering taking a break from hosting duties.

Massive plans underway for Bigg Boss 9 Telugu

The source further added that the makers are in discussions with Nagarjuna, urging him to reconsider his decision. Negotiations are ongoing, and an official confirmation is expected soon. Typically, Bigg Boss Telugu airs in October each year, but this time, the makers are planning an earlier launch in June or July. This change in schedule has also fueled speculation about the show's new direction.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna is set to appear in two films this year—Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, and Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. In both films, he plays significant roles. Additionally, he is gearing up for two new projects with debutant directors and wants to dedicate ample time to them. Since Bigg Boss Telugu would overlap with these commitments, he is inclined to take a break from hosting duties.

In the past, Nagarjuna managed to juggle hosting responsibilities while filming his movies. However, given that the show's popularity has been waning, he may feel this is the right time to step away.
