Sasikumar, who has had two releases in November, has completed his next, titled Nandhan. Udhayanidhi has announced the title and first look poster of the film from his Twitter page. Era Saravanan, who teamed up with Sasi in Udanpirappe, has directed the movie which revolves around the life of a few labourers in Pudukkottai.

Though Sasi has been part of several rural dramas before, this one has him in a role which he hasn't essayed before. According to a report in TOI, the actor-filmmaker is playing an underprivileged labourer who works for a landlord.

How the character faces a few unanticipated incidents in his profession which turns his life topsy-turvy forms the film's plot. According to Saravanan, the political angle in the movie is what makes it different from other projects of the actor. Though the filmmaker had a couple of other artists in mind, he finally decided to go ahead with Sasikumar.

The Naan Mirugamaai Maara actor had to chew betel leaves continuously for a month to get into the skin of the rural character he plays in Nandhan. Suruthi Periyasamy of Bigg Boss Tamil 5 plays the female lead in the project; it marks her Kollywood debut.

Filmmaker-actor Balaji Sakthivel will be seen essaying the antagonist's role in Nandhan. The movie is expected to hit the screens in 2023. Pagaivanuku Arulvai and Naa Naa are other films Sasikumar has in his kitty. His recent outings Naan Mirugamaai Maara and Kaari will drop soon on Sun NXT and Zee5 respectively.

A few months ago, he had announced that he is planning to return to direction soon, leaving fans thrilled. However, there hasn't been any update so far.
