It’s been a while since Nani did a feel-good romcom, a genre that catapulted him to fame and popularity. His upcoming movie Ante Sundaraniki could once again prove why it’s a genre that he aces time and again. The teaser of the movie, which also stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh, was launched at an event in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The video introduced the two characters – Sundar, a devout Brahmin who is tied down by his family’s customs and Leela, a freebird photographer who lives life to the fullest. The first teaser also shows how love blossoms between them and the challenges that arise once their parents get to know they belong to different religions.
It also shows the contrasting backdrops of the two lead characters with Sundar’s family neck deep in superstitions and traditions, while Leela’s parents are seemingly cool with her choosing her own partner, but their reactions when she actually does seem to be the opposite. All hell breaks loose when their parents get to know their partners in this delighful romantic comedy, scripted and directed by Vivek Atherya.
The movie, which is set to release in theatres worldwide on June 10, also stars Harsha Vardhan, Rahul Ramakrishna, Rohini, Nadiya Moidu and Naresh. Ante Sundaraniki, which will also be released in Tamil and Malayalam, will mark Nazriya’s Telugu debut.
The actress had completed dubbing her portions for the film last month and shared a heartwarming post about working with the team. “I’m so proud and happy and overwhelmed by the film we have all made together during these uncertain times,” she wrote. The film also marks her third full-length feature movie signing since her wedding in 2014, after Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy Thiruvothu’s Koode and husband Fahadh Faasil’s Trance.
Nazriya also thanked her co-star Nani for being her “biggest cheerleader and sweetest co-star” on the sets of her Telugu debut.
