It has been over 12 years since Nargis Fakhri starrer blockbuster film, Rockstar, hit Indian theatres. Her role in this romantic drama fetched her numerous awards including many for ‘Best Female Debut – Bollywood'. Sharping her acting skills further, she featured in Bollywood films namely Madras Cafe (2013), Main Tera Hero (2014), Spy (2015, her first Hollywood production), Azhar (2016), and Housefull 3 (2016) - all of which were declared superhits at the box-office. From 2016 till today, however, she hasn’t delivered a hit film theatrically. In a hope to break the momentum, she has revealed recently that she would be featuring in an international project.
Nargis Fakhri bags an international project
In an interview with India Today, the 44-year-old actress revealed that she is eagerly looking forward to an international project and it is not just a music video. She said, “I am someone who believes in a healthy work-life balance. As an actor, I want to do good work but I’m not someone who plans stuff ahead of time.”
“I am looking forward to how people will receive my recently released project ‘Tatlubaz’. Besides, I also work internationally and I’m excited about my next international project,” she wrapped up the conversation.
While she did share insights into the project she's currently involved in, she made it clear that it's not a music video. Only time will unveil whether the project will be released on an OTT platform or not.
Nargis Fakhri and her personal life
Born in Queens, New York City, actress Nargis Fakhri is the daughter of Mohammed Fakhri and Marie Fakhri, a former police officer. Her father hails from Pakistan, while her mother has Czech origins.
Commencing in 2013, Fakhri entered a relationship with actor Uday Chopra. Their association garnered significant media attention in India, with speculations about an impending marriage. Nevertheless, the couple parted ways by the end of 2017. In May 2018, Fakhri confirmed her relationship with filmmaker Matt Alonzo via Instagram, but the pair eventually ended their relationship in 2019.
