Narthan to make Yash 20? Or Yuva Rajkumar's next? Here's what we know...

Filmmaker Narthan is currently busy with his second film Bhairathi Ranagal, one that sees him collaborating with Shiva Rajkumar for the second time. Bhairathi Ranagal comes as the prequel to Narthan's 2017 film Mufti with the new film exploring the origin story of the titular character that Shiva Rajkumar played. 

Aside from headlining this exciting project, the 60-year-old actor will also be producing the film under his home banner of Geetha Pictures. It emerged recently that Rukmini Vasanth will play the female lead in Bhairathi Ranagal.

Exciting Projects In the Pipeline

Narthan was previously meant to direct Rocking Star Yash which was billed as the follow-up to K.G.F: Chapter 2. The project was in development was quite some time but failed to take off at the expected hour due to myriad reasons. Yash, too, would forge other collaborations in parallel which, in a way, that his film with Narthan lay in a realm of uncertainty.

However, it does seem that the project is still very much on the cards and current speculations suggest that if things align as intended, Narthan could be directing either Yash 20 or Yash 21. In his recent media interaction, Narthan alluded to a few tricky circumstances that slightly derailed his plans for the Yash project but assured everyone that it will happen in the near future.

Film with Yuva Rajkumar

Another interesting buzz that comes about is Narthan directing young Yuva Rajkumar. The latter is gearing up for his grand debut which is being produced by Hombale Films and directed by Santhosh Ananddram and once he is through with this commitment, there's a good chance he teams up with Narthan for an exciting venture. 

What we hear is that the script for this film is ready but the concerned entities are curious to know how Bhairathi Ranagal turns out before going ahead. Considering that Narthan has only made one film thus far (which release as many as six years ago) it is likely that every prospect of his will depend on the success of his upcoming film with Shivanna. But should things turn out well, he could be directing Yuva Rajkumar's next or his third.

The Mighty Ram Charan Project

Another speculation that's been doing the rounds for quite some time is the film with RRR actor Ram Charan, whom Narthan is said to have met a couple of times over script discussions. Though it came to light that the project was potentially shelved due to certain factors, it would seem that the film is still on the cards and has only been postponed. There's a good chance that it might take off again post Bhairathi Ranagal.
