Yash 19: Was Narthan forced to rewrite the script for THIS reason?

The very recent muhurtha event of Bhairathi Ranagal turned out to be special for more than just one reason. Not only did was it an occasion to launch the much-anticipated film that will have Shiva Rajkumar as the lead but the event also offered the media present an opportunity to interact with Narthan, the director. Narthan needs no introduction because he has been in the news for quite some time for his famed collaboration with Rocking Star Yash, which at one point was meant to be Yash 19. Although an official update on this remains pending, it is quite certain that Narthan is no longer making Yash 19 and the top contender at this moment is the Malayalam filmmaker Geetu Mohandas. Again, a formal/official confirmation is awaited on this collaboration as well.

So, when Narthan presented himself to the world after a long gap, questions pertaining to Yash and the mega project were going to be inevitably posed. While he and the core team of Bhairathi Ranagal did shed a lot of light on the film that will soon get underway, Narthan wasn't allowed to dodge the Yash 19 queries and eventually, he would bite the bullet. 

Has the Narthan and Yash film been shelved? Did Yash reject the film? Or is there any chance that they would unite as intended in the future?

"We are working on the script and Yash sir, too, is in touch. However, the issue today is that when you go to Netflix or Amazon Prime, you find so much content there that whatever story you have written might have already been executed somewhere else. So, we are then made to change what we have written. Also, you cannot make any small film with Yash sir. We are making corrections and we will do the film," said Narthan in his one-on-one discussions with the media.

If you look closely, the word 'corrections' stands out from the rest. It almost suggests, in a way, that Narthan's script, presumably, ended up having stark similarities with another film in terms of the plot or storyline. This could have then resulted in Narthan being forced to go back to the drawing board to refigure the script and perhaps compelling Yash to look for other options in the meantime. And with Yash catapulting to unprecedented heights following the success of KGF 2 and evidently attracting opportunities from all corners, it is likely that he would have opted to work with more filmmakers with more accomplishments to suit his image.

Well, all suspicions and apprehensions can be put to rest when either of the two entities decides on clearing the air. Until then, we are left with conjectures of this kind and hope to receive that much-awaited update concerning Yash 19. More updates to follow
