Nayanthara joins Gopichand Malineni, Balakrishna's period drama, first look as the royal queen goes viral

Nayanthara is showing no signs of slowing down and is doing back-to-back films in Telugu. It is a known fact that she is playing the female lead in Anil Ravipudi and Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The talkie part of the film has been wrapped up, and now Nayanthara has signed yet another biggie. 

Nayanthara plays female lead in Balakrishna's next

We at OTTplay were the first ones to reveal that Nayanthara is in talks to play the female lead in Balakrishna's next, which will be directed by Gopichand Malineni. The film was announced on a grand note, and this is the second time Balakrishna has teamed up with Gopichand after their successful film, Veera Simha Reddy. 

As reported, the makers have confirmed Nayanthara's entry into the film and even released the first look of her as the mighty queen. Nayan looks ethereal as the queen, and a motion poster video was also revealed by the makers. The manner in which the star heroine is introduced looks super cool and gives the idea that Nayanthara has a thumping role in the film. 

This yet-to-be-titled film brings back Nayanthara and Balakrishna together after seven long years. They acted in a mythological film titled Sri Rama Rajyam, where Nayan played Sita, and it was her last film then, as she was all set to get married. But as things did not work out, she moved on in life and is now doing back-to-back films.

The interesting aspect is that Nayanthara is showing more interest in Telugu films than Tamil films. Fans are super thrilled that Nayanthara will be seen in a period drama, and that too with Balakrishna. Gopichand Malineni is known to showcase his heroines in a powerful manner and the same is expected with Nayanthara's character as well. 

Gopichand Malineni is attempting a historical film for the first time in his career, and there is so much pressure on him to deliver. But with the likes of Nayanthara joining the project, a lot of hype has been generated around this film. The shooting of the film will go on floors in January 2026, after the completion of Sankranthi festival.
