Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has been roped in for Sundeep Kishan-starrer sci-fi thriller film, MaayaOne. C V Kumar is directing the film, bankrolled by Rambrhamam Sunkara under the banner of Adventures International Pvt Ltd.

The highly anticipated film is a sequel to Maayavan, starring Sundeep Kishan, Lavanya Tripathi, Jackie Shroff, R Amarendran, Daniel Balaji, Mime Gopi, and Bagavathi Perumal.

In order to blend into his dynamic role in this film, Neil is also trying to lose some weight and improve his diction. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, who has worked in the Netflix-released Hindi film Guilty, is debuting in Tamil with MaayaOne. She is playing the female lead in this film. According to reports, Sundeep is going through makeovers to fit in to his action-packed character.

Neil has played the antagonist in films such as Bellamkonda Sreenivas' Kavacham and Prabhas' multilingual action film Saaho. Speaking in a recent interview, Sundeep mentioned his bond with C V Kumar and described this film as a dream project for a long time. Sundeep played the lead role in the Telugu neo-noir action film Michael this year. He will be seen in Dhanush’s Captain Miller, which is expected to release in January 2024.

Santhosh Narayana is composing the music for the sequel. Similar to its prequel, the movie will evolve around a common man's fight against a powerful foe.

Maayavan, an intriguing sci-fi film

Maayavan's compelling storyline won praise for the film when it was released in 2017. The movie's antagonist is Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. Project Z is the name of the Telugu-dubbed version of the film. Ghibran produced the soundtrack for this movie.

The plot of the movie centres on a young police officer named Kumaran and his investigation into a few murders that seem to follow the same mysterious pattern. To the astonishment of the viewers, the officer ultimately discovers a strange truth towards the conclusion of the film.

Maayavan is available on Disney+ Hotstar.
