Filmmaker Nelson recently opened up about his upcoming projects and addressed the growing speculation about him reuniting with Superstar Rajinikanth for a sequel to Jailer .

Nelson was reserved when discussing the rumours, neither confirming nor denying them, about Jailer 2, which only fueled anticipation among his fans. "Everything is still in talks. Nothing has been confirmed yet. I cannot reveal anything at the moment because I am just an employee. The announcement has to come from the boss. Anyway, we will confirm everything in a month or two," Nelson said regarding the rumours about Jailer 2.

Jailer, released in cinemas last year, became one of the biggest commercial hits in the history of Tamil cinema. The film grossed more than Rs 600 crore from worldwide ticket sales, providing a significant boost to Nelson's directorial career.

Nelson on Helming Thalapathy 69

Following the critical failure of his movie Beast, starring Thalapathy Vijay, Nelson's reputation took a hit. Questions arose about his talents as a director, with murmurs even suggesting producers might shelve Nelson's film with Rajinikanth.

However, Rajinikanth and the producers at Sun Pictures remained unfazed by the criticism and maintained their faith in Nelson, a decision that ultimately paid off.

Nelson also clarified that he is not in the running to helm Thalapthy Vijay's next movie, titled Thaalapthy 69. "My big congratulations to whoever is directing that film. It's a significant opportunity to work with Vijay sir, and it would be great if it happens to me again. But I am not doing Thalapathy 69," he added.

Nelson revealed his wish list of superstars from across the Indian film industry whom he would cast alongside Thalapathy Vijay. "Mahesh Babu sir, Mammootty sir, and Shah Rukh Khan sir," he revealed.
