Arunraja Kamaraj's Nenjuku Needhi is one project which evoked curiousity among movie buffs ever since it was announced. The movie starring Udhayanidhi in the lead is the official remake of Bollywood film Article 15 (streaming on Netflix). Boney Kapoor has bankrolled the film under Bayview Projects in association with Zee Studios and Romeo Pictures.

The makers have now unveiled the trailer and songs of the movie which is set for a theatrical release on May 20. The two-and-a-half minute trailer is gripping, to say the least, thanks to Dinesh Krishnan's adequate visuals and Dhibu Ninan Thomas' effective background score.

Going by the trailer, Udhayanidhi has managed to match what Ayushmann Khurrana has succeeded in doing in the Hindi version which was directed by Anubhav Sinha. He essays a dedicated cop who is ready to go to any extent in finding out the shocking truth behind brutal murders, a gangrape and cases involving caste discrimination.

Tanya Ravichandran essays the female lead in the movie which has Shivani Rajashekar, Aari, Yamini Chander, Suresh Chakravarthi, Ilavarasan, Mayilsamy, Sayaji Shinde and Ramesh Thilak playing crucial characters. Ruben has edited the project which has art direction helmed by Vinoth Rajkumar and Lalgudi N Ilayaraja.

Tamizharasan Pachamuthu has penned dialogues for Nenjuku Needhi which has action scenes choreographed by Stunner Sam. Nandini Karky and Harihara Sudhan have handled subtitling and VFX respectively for the project which is Udhayanidhi's first release during the pandemic era.

Mysskin's Psycho (streaming on Netflix), which received positive response from critics and audience, was his previous outing. Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan and Magizh Thirumeni's untitled movie are other films he currently has in his kitty. His production company Red Giant Movies has been acquiring Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of many big ticket Tamil flicks in recent times.
