Neru, the highly anticipated emotional courtroom drama which stars Mohanlal in the lead role, finally hit the theatres today. The Jeethu Joseph directorial, which revolves around the trial of a controversial case, also stars young actress Anaswara Rajan in a pivotal role. Mohanlal has appeared in the role of public prosecutor Adv. Vijayamohan in the movie, which marked his fifth collaboration with director Jeethu Joseph. As per the latest updates, the theatres are now adding extra shows for Neru, across Kerala.
Neru gets extra shows due to high demand
According to the reports, the audience demand for the Mohanlal starrer has been increasing across Kerala, after the movie opened to positive reviews. The latest updates suggest that almost all major releasing centers in the state has added additional shows for Neru, to accommodate the increasing audience rush. If things proceed at the same rate, the courtroom drama will have at least 50 extra shows per day, on its release day and following weekend.
Mohanlal has been receiving rave reviews for his brilliant performance as Adv. Vijayamohanan, the senior lawyer who returns to his profession after a break, in Neru. However, it is Anaswara Rajan, who appeared in the role of blind sculptor Sara, who astonished the audiences with her stellar performance in the courtroom drama.
Neru to earn blockbuster status
Unlike the other Mohanlal films of recent times, the Jeethu Joseph directorial started rolling without any hype and the shooting was wrapped up in a quick schedule. However, Neru garnered the attention of viewers with the brilliant trailer, and the pre-release events attended by the cast and crew members. Now, the rave reviews and increasing word-of-mouth publicity suggests that the emotional courtroom drama is set to emerge as a major box office success. Neru also has all the possibilities to emerge as a blockbuster.
