After an enthralling discussion centred on twofilm directors - Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Deva Katta - Sony LIV’s popular talk show Nijam with Smita is back with another episode this weekend. The seventh episode is certain to grab eyeballs, for it brings together a real-life hero and a reel-life hero on the same stage. Yes, we’re indeed talking about Major Bharat Reddy and Adivi Sesh.

If Major Bharath Reddy quit his engineering career to serve the nation and was also honoured with the Sena Medal later, Adivi Sesh played a real-life army officer to perfection in the biopic of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the Hindi-Telugu multilingual Major. They throw light on a gamut of issues surrounding the life of an army man in the latest episode of the show, to premiere on March 24.

Adivi Sesh, who was last seen in Hit 2, the second part of the crime thriller franchise, shares the impact that AR Rahman’s iconic song Vande Mataram had on him during his younger days and calls it one of the most defining moments in his life. He also talks of his admiration for the sacrifices of the families of the army officers and how they are the backbone of soldiers’ lives.

Major Bharat Reddy also discusses his motive behind joining the Indian Army and throws light on how the Army looks at various aspects like love, marriage, and heroism. On the whole, they offer fascinating insights and challenges of a military career besides the portrayal of army officers in films and if they’re close to reality.

Presented by Dev Katta, Nijam With Smita is produced and hosted by musician, entrepreneur Smita Vallurupalli. Chiranjeevi, Chandra Babu Naidu, Nani, Rana Daggubati, Sai Pallavi, Pullela Gopichand, Sudheer Babu, Dev Katta and Sandeep Reddy Vanga were among the other guests in the show across six weeks.
