Nikamma will see Shilpa Shetty return to the big screen yet again after a gap of almost 15 years. But that's not the only reason why fans are stoked for the film. Singer Shirley Setia will also be making her Bollywood debut with the action entertainer, sharing the screen with Abhimanyu Dassani. The film has finally hit theaters today. But for those who are unable to catch the action on the big screen, fret not, as Nikamma will make its way onto a popular OTT platform after its theatrical run.
Streaming giant Netflix has bagged the digital rights to the film. However, an OTT release date for Nikamma is yet to be announced. Check out Nikamma’s trailer below:
The upcoming film revolves around the story of an unemployed man who lives a fun and carefree life. But a dangerous turn of events leads him to channel his inner strength and turn a hero.In addition to Shetty, Dassani and Setia, Nikamma also stars Samir Soni and Abhimanyu Singh in prominent roles. Sabbir Khan has directed the film, which was bankrolled under the banners of Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir Khan Films. The film has music composed by Amaal Mallik, Javed–Mohsin, Vipin Patwa and Gourov Dasgupta. The film’s title track is a recreation of the song Nikamma Kiya Is Dil Ne from the soundtrack of the 2002 film, Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa.
Nikamma is the Hindi remake of the 2017 Telugu film called Middle Class Abbayi, which starred Nani, Sai Pallavi, Bhumika Chawla, Vijay Varma, Naresh and Rajiv Kanakala. The film, directed by Venu Sriram, can be streamed on Disney+Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video.
