In 2023, multiple reports revealed that eminent filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is working on his ambitious project – Ramayana, inspired by the mythological epic. Currently, the casting of the film is underway. Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor is very likely to essay the role of Lord Rama in the project. While developments around the project continue to gain momentum, the latest update reveals that Arun Govil, who is known for his portraying Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's iconic TV show Ramayan, has praised Ranbir Kapoor as an actor.

In a press meeting, reporters wondered whether Ranbir Kapoor’s presence in the project as Lord Rama is apt or not.
To this query, Arun responded, “Voh ho sakta hai ya nahi ho sakta hai voh toh samay batayega. Pehle se kuch nahi kaha ja sakta kisi ke baare main. But, as far as Ranbir is concerned, he is a good actor. He is an award-winning actor. Jitna jaanta hoon main unko, bohot sanskaari bacche hain voh. Unke andar morals, sanskar, sanskriti hai. Maine dekha hai kayi baar unko. I’m sure that he will try to do his level best. (Only time will tell whether he was the right fit to essay the role of Lord Rama on the big screen. Nothing can be predicted beforehand. But, as far as Ranbir is concerned, he is a good actor. He is an award-winning actor. As far as I know him, he is a well-mannered boy. He is a well-cultured boy with good morale. I have seen him. I wish him the best)”
