It is indeed turning into a reality! The big screen will witness Ranbir Kapoor play the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravan in Nitesh Tiwari's retelling of the Ramayana. According to reports, the film is scheduled to begin shooting in March this year. And now, according to the latest reports, at Prime Focus' Mumbai headquarters, the casting crew has started looking for performers to portray the roles of young Ram and Lakshman.

Search for young Ram and Lakshman underway

Mid Day reported that in the following two weeks, the filmmaker should settle on a cast. Rumour has it that Naveen Polishetty is in talks to play Lakshman, while Ranbir is playing Lord Ram. The casting crew and Nitesh are checking to see if the actors portraying the younger and older versions of Ram and Lakshman are a good fit. There are currently four or five young actors in the running.

Currently, Bollywood enthusiasts are discussing Nitesh's direction of Ramayan, starring Ranbir. The filmmaker is nearly ready to put his enormous project—starring RK as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana—on floors after more than a year of writing, casting, and preparation. The epic shoot is scheduled to begin on March 2 at Film City, Goregaon.

Nitesh Tiwari's epic project ready to roll

According to a source, the production team informed the actors and crew that the big day would be on March 2. Nitesh has had Film City on his agenda for quite some time, and part of the leg will be devoted to shooting scenes with lots of dialogue, starring Ranbir and Sai. Throughout the months of April and May, the crew will film the majority of the crowd scenes and certain combat scenes. They need to finish these sequences before the monsoons hit the city.

The visual effects team of the epic, which includes Nitesh and the Academy Award-winning studio DNEG, has worked tirelessly to bring the story to life onscreen. Among the many months of preparation have been look tests with the main actors and 3D scans. As per reports, RK will also be attending a tech rehearsal at DNEG's Los Angeles office.

Expert technicians from Los Angeles to assist in production

The source also told the tabloid that the makers will also be flying down expert technicians from Los Angeles to help them get familiar with the process in the first few weeks of the shoot.

The first of the trilogy's three parts is set to hit theatres in the latter half of 2025.
